Though I have not had close family envolment with mining in my family, the interest came about when I did a local history class in 1998. This sort of class takes you in all directions and with the City of Stoke-on-Trent being made up of six towns it makes for a lot of local History. As you find more out you begin to see just how coal mining played a very important part in our local history.
As you can see on our web site I have looked at the housing in our area. This has found out a lot about not just housing but the lives of mining familys who came to live in our area from far and wide, not just in the 20th century but long before that.
I would like to find out if any one out there has photos of the prefabs taken after the war.
